Alex is somewhat of a pioneer. A lone warrior, a soldier for the cause… or just a massive teddy bear… however you look at it he’s determined to make a difference to the lives of student kitesurfers. Keen to be involved from day one, Mr Butt is definitely here for the long run. Full of ideas and inspiration, Alex will be part of our dedicated events team delivering the biggest and best student events out there. He’s the sensible one on the committee. While the rest of us have our heads in the clouds dreaming of a distant land of turquoise lagoons, 25kts and hours spent in the green room. Alex will be the man reminding us that we live in the UK where the water is cold and often a dirty brown colour… but we can still tear it to pieces.

Hugh has somewhat of a reputation among those who know him… he’ll make every effort to break himself and the kite he’s riding within half an hour of getting to the beach. That’s just the way he is. Some think it’s his disregard for the strength of the wind, some think he fancies the girl in the coastguard boat and others think it’s his uncontrollable passion and enthusiasm for the sport. I prefer to think it’s the latter, although he does like to spend a lot of time with the coastguard…
Shipman’s passion for kitesurfing however is clear. Not content with sitting back, Hugh is on a personal mission to deliver the best events the SKA have run to date. His enthusiasm is only matched by… No, in fact it’s unmatched.

Tomo’s an awesome lad, always cheerful and in a good mood. Just what you need from an instructor really! With plenty of teaching experience under his belt, he’s one more reason for beginners to feel safe and well looked after at our events this year. Always up for a laugh, make sure you say hello to him at the events, you won’t be disappointed! Having spent most of his summer checking out seagulls on a tiny island off the coast of England, we’re hoping that Tomo will channel his need to top up his extreme points into organising some of the sickest weekends we’ve ever hosted, as one leg of the mega Events tripod.
